Three 2016 summer sessions:
June 20 – July 8, July 11-29, August 15 – September 2
9:00am-12:00pm, Monday – Friday
Upper East Side Location
(students can attend 1, 2, or 3 sessions)
As students progress through elementary school, the academic and language demands increase at a rapid pace. As a result, it becomes essential for students to develop strong skills in reading, writing, reading comprehension, and math. For many students, summer is a long gap of time to have no consistent academic instruction. During these three week courses, we use multi-sensory techniques that the students find “fun” and enjoyable, while building their core academic skills. Students can attend one, two, or all three sessions.
Prior to the start of the program, students are assessed by Dr. Levy to determine their strengths and weaknesses, grade levels, and academic goals. For the summer program, we match them with other students who fit a similar profile in order to individualize the program and maximize their summer instruction. As the language demands of school increase, these academic skills become evermore essential for academic success. In small group settings, students will learn research-based strategies to provide them with the tools they need to feel confident and successful in school. Students truly enjoy the program, including our “Bunny Money” incentive program, and often ask their parents to sign up for another session!
Students will build skills in:
Reading & Spelling
Reading Comprehension
Writing Organization and Development
Vocabulary
Study Skills
Multi-sensory Math
